You’ll be part of a close-knit finance team with two colleagues in Paris, and collaborate with our HQ team in vibrant Amsterdam. Who you are:
You are an energetic and dynamic GL Accountant with strong technical accounting knowledge, hands-on experience in operational tasks, and a knack for analytics and process improvement. Someone who thrives in a hybrid role combining operational and analytical responsibilities in a fast-moving scale-up environment.
What you’ll be doing
Your main responsibilities are listed below:
Operational GL Accounting
- Post required journal entries and keep general ledgers up to date - also payroll related
- Process VAT tax returns
- Perform all necessary declarations with French authorities – with assistance of local chartered accountant
Monthly Reporting and Analysis
- Take ownership of the monthly closing process by providing HQ in the Netherlands with clear, analytical summaries that support fast and efficient consolidation
Collaboration
- Collaborate with the local chartered accountant (expert-compatible) for complex FR GAAP matters
- Participate in the annual audit process
Process Improvements
- Identify and implement improvements in accounting and financial processes
- Document workflows and standardize procedures in a scaling environment
Your toolkit includes:
- Strong expertise in FR GAAP (Plan Comptable Général).
- Experience with operational accounting tasks and compliance with French tax laws.
- Fluent in English to effectively communicate with HQ in the Netherlands.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scale-up environment with evolving processes.
- A degree in accounting / finance, or related field – BTS comptabilité / DCG
- Relevant experience in accounting / bookkeeping is a must
