It says a lot about what a long career at 2theloo can become. It’s not only about the places we operate or the millions of visitors walking through our doors. It’s also about the people behind those locations, the teams who work together every day, support each other and, over time, become much more than just colleagues.

After 14 years in the business, Lamia knows exactly what excellent service looks like. And according to her, there’s no need to overcomplicate it.

At busy locations, delivering that experience day after day takes attention, teamwork and a genuine eye for the people walking through the door. Because when nature calls, nobody wants extra surprises. Well, apart from discovering that a public restroom can actually be a pretty pleasant place.

For Lamia, making people feel welcome is simply part of the job — whether that means supporting her team or making sure every visitor leaves with a positive impression.

During our recent French Shop Managers Days, we discovered that Lamia has another talent up her sleeve: karaoke. Give Lamia a microphone and, apparently, she knows exactly what to do with it. 

Safe to say, she knows how to take the lead both at work and on stage.

After 14 years, Lamia’s story is one of dedication, growth, leadership and, above all, people. We’re incredibly proud to have her as part of 2theloo and grateful for everything she continues to bring to our teams in France.

A new milestone: expanding Covent Garden



The recent expansion of the Covent Garden store marks a significant milestone for 2theloo in the UK. The site has doubled in size, introducing a refreshed layout and the company’s updated brand identity, designed to enhance both customer flow and overall experience.“This expansion represents more than just a physical transformation,” Esther explains. “It’s about elevating our standards, improving efficiency, and offering a space that truly reflects the quality and professionalism of our service.”Leading this transition required careful planning, coordination, and execution from operational restructuring to team alignment ensuring the store remained fully functional throughout the process.



How has your role evolved with this new expansion?



With the expansion, my role has naturally grown into a more strategic and leadership-focused position. Beyond daily operations, I am now more involved in planning, team development, and ensuring that the new space operates efficiently at a higher capacity.Managing a larger site means anticipating customer flow, maintaining consistent standards across a bigger environment, and supporting a team that must adapt quickly to new processes. It’s a challenge I truly enjoy, as it allows me to contribute more directly to the company’s growth in the UK.



Can you tell us more about your responsibilities within the company today?



My responsibilities now extend across operational management, team leadership, and performance optimisation. I ensure that our service consistently meets the high standards expected in Covent Garden, while also focusing on efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction. A key part of my role is developing and supporting the team, creating a positive, motivated environment where everyone understands their impact on the overall customer experience. I also work closely with stakeholders and partners to ensure smooth day-to-day operations in a dynamic and demanding location.



What is your biggest challenge in your current role?



One of the biggest challenges is balancing growth with consistency. As we expand and evolve, it is essential to maintain the same level of quality, attention to detail, and customer care that defines our service.Operating in a fast-paced city like London adds another layer of complexity, requiring constant adaptability, quick decision-making, and strong team coordination.



Looking at your 2theloo experience so far, what are you most proud of?



I am most proud of the team we have built and the standards we have maintained, even during periods of change and growth.Successfully delivering this expansion while keeping the operation running smoothly is a major achievement. It reflects not only strong planning, but also the commitment, resilience, and professionalism of the entire team.



What makes 2theloo a great place to work?

Most important question: who is your favourite superhero, and why?



My favourite superhero is Wonder Woman. She represents strength, resilience, and compassion qualities that I strive to bring into my professional life every day. Her ability to lead with both determination and empathy strongly resonates with me.



With the newly expanded Covent Garden store, Esther is focused on continuing to raise standards, strengthen her team, and contribute to 2theloo’s long-term growth in the UK market.

2theloo and Shell continue to build comfort on the road together

We have great news! 2theloo and Shell are extending their partnership for the coming years. Since 2013, we have been working together to make clean, pleasant and comfortable toilet stops on the road possible. We now operate more than fifty locations in the Netherlands and Belgium, including Shell Haarrijn on the A2, our busiest site with over a thousand visitors a day.

In the coming period, we will be upgrading more than twenty Shell locations with the latest 2theloo concept. 

In addition, we are jointly exploring new opportunities together.

We are also announcing a new partnership with Q8. From 2026 onwards, 2theloo will provide modern, sustainable sanitary facilities at the new Q8 EV charging stations in Belgium. These locations combine charging, shopping, eating and relaxing — and of course a clean and comfortable toilet visit.

2024 was our best year ever: we welcomed a record number of over 40 million visitors across our locations, we opened new venues, our customers rated us an 8.5, and we achieved the highest operational result ever of EUR 2.7 million.



We look to the future with confidence. With partners such as Shell, Q8, TotalEnergies/CircleK, SNCF and NMBS, we continue to build on our mission: a surprisingly pleasant toilet break for everyone, everywhere.

The way people travel is changing and so are the places where they stop along the way. Q8 and Storm have created a location where charging goes hand in hand with convenience and comfort. Travellers can charge their car, grab a coffee, shop, enjoy a meal and, from now on, also count on 2theloo for a clean and comfortable toilet break.

For us, this partnership is about much more than toilets. It’s about being part of the total journey experience and making sure people feel taken care of wherever their journey takes them.

That makes Q8 a great match for 2theloo. We share the ambition to make stops along the way easier, more comfortable and more enjoyable while responding to the changing needs of today’s travellers.

And this is just the start. The next 2theloo x Q8 location is already on its way, bringing our toilet experience to even more people on the road.
